EINSTEIN

The egg is “the perfect artistic form” said DaVinci, the symbol for initial creation. Einstein represents initial creation. These two forms of initial creation are represented in this work in a final form…beginning and end rolled into one oval shaped form.

The concept behind Einstein is to humanize the legend to bring him back in an accessible format. Think of it as “a master in motion”. It is meant to be simple, but not simply defined. This concept allows the viewer to understand the piece whether they can intellectualize it or not.

Note the representation of Einstein’s “heavy ball theory” as it explodes through the chalk board containing his famed theory of relativity. Details such as his familiar hair and hat, as well as his sockless ankles bring a whimsical feel to the experience.

Inspired by the Einstein quote “Imagination is more important that knowledge”, Singleton captures this philosophy in the flow of the sculpture.

Ultimately the goal to inspire, educate and empower. Everybody gets it, but for a different reason.
